Bob Katz on Dancing With Anima.

JP Ryan began playing music in his late teens influenced by an ongoing affinity for old Irish folk songs. Described as having songs and a performance style that cover a wide emotional range, JP has played with and opened for a range of  acts, among them, Rod Stewart, Chris Diffard, Ollabelle, Interactive Artist and saxophonist, David Jackson, bassist, Andy Baker and Italian guitar virtuoso, Beppe Gambetta to name a few.

After graduating from art college in the mid nineties, JP pursued postgraduate studies in Art Therapy and  from here completed an MA in this subject.  He subsequently worked in a professional capacity within a variety of clinical and social settings using music and art as primary forms of expression.

Although JP Ryan's first album, 'Dancing With Anima' consist of a mellow selection of Adult Contemporary songs, recorded with a collection of  Irish session players including Des Moore, and James Blennerhassett,  his second album, 'Take A Walk With Me' sees a change in direction, this time with a collection of Nashville's finest, including SESAC Award winner, Thomm Jutz  Lynn Williams, Grammy Award winning bassist, Mark Fain, Britt Savage, multi-instrumentalist, Justin Moses, JT Brown and Gary Smith.
